1025 - Celestial Symbols—Symbolism in Doctrine, Religious Traditions, and Temple Architecture,
by Allen H. Barber.

     The Lord's Plan of Salvation is deeply interwoven with symbolic representations. This is especially so with respect to Christ and His atonement, baptism, and the temple. In this book, Allen H. Barber lists over 300 symbols, explains their meanings and tells how the Lord uses them to teach His plan of salvation through the scriptures, the prophets, and in the temples.
     He explains the purpose and nature of symbols;
symbols that relate to the eternal nature of the universe and God’s creations, symbols that relate to man’s lifespan on earth, the plan of salvation, and the priesthood on earth and in heaven, and symbols that deal with the House of The Lord.
   Celestial Symbols is a carefully prepared, well- documented book with valuable insights that will enhance and broaden the gospel understanding of all who read it. $15.98

1263 - Come to the House of the Lord,
by David S. King.

     The author, David S. King, is a former president of the Washington, D.C. Temple.
   Come to the House of the Lord is his effort to provide temple participants with insights about temple worship which will revitalize their enjoyment of temple service.
     Some of his insights are framed within an historical context. He shares intriguing comments about temples in Israel in Old Testament and New Testament times. He speaks of unique experiences in the Kirtland and Nauvoo eras, as well as modern times. But the historical aspects are only a framework for presenting many insights concerning temple symbolism, as well as the reasons for modern practices and protocols. He tells how many things are done, and why, in the administration of the Houses of the Lord.
     Elder King puts the grand principles of redemption for both the living and the dead in the context of the afterlife, explaining principles of both salvation and exaltation and their foundations: the atonement of Jesus Christ.
     Come to the House of the Lord is a book that teaches, inspires and motivates. All who read it will be blessed with new insights, and will gain knowledge and understanding that will make their temple experiences more rich, meaningful and beautiful.  $13.98

1951 - Endowed From on High— Understanding the Symbols of the Endowment,

1262 -  The Scriptural Temple,
by Mark H. Greene III.

     This book focuses on the concept of what man must do, and how he must do it, to ascend into the presence of God. It is a broad synthesis of scriptural relationships. It creates a temple paradigm in the image of a mountain and our ascent of this mountain. The term “scriptural temple,” as used by the author in this book, refers to "scriptural verses that directly or indirectly refer to the nature of true temple worship."
     The scriptural insights explained in The Scriptural Temple are life-changing in their scope and impact. They are presented herein with skill and loving care. Certainly, they in no way breach the sacred confidentiality of the temple service. They reach upward and provide a basis for continuing personal growth.
     When you read this book, you too will discover that "the scriptural temple keeps expanding as we are taught by the Holy Spirit." If you want temple attendance to continually be a personal growth experience, this book deserves a place at the top of your reading list!  $13.98
