1048 -  Alien Encounters—
The Deception Menace

by James L. Thompson.

Aliens and their craft are a study in self-contradiction: UFOs lit up like Christmas trees conduct "secret" missions; supposedly solid craft merge like water droplets in mid-air; form-changing beings profess love while subjecting victims to unwarranted physical and psychological torture; hypnotized abductees, whose memories were supposedly erased, manage to deliver extensive, pointed messages that are obviously meant to be heard.
This book explains ancient concepts of extra-terrestrial life including the "returning earthling," "subterranean civilization" and other theories about alien origins, ancient and modern crash-and-recover reports, and alien connections to Old-World myths and fairy tales. It also explores claims of government coverups, mysterious reports of "men in black" associated with UFO sightings, evolving UFO craft designs through the years, frightening New Age religious connections, and human "go-betweens."
Accounts of numerous recently-recorded encounters between aliens and humans worldwide, including abduction and missing time reports, add to this book's wealth of information on these puzzling phenomena.
This book is a much needed reality-check, offering the most compelling explanations yet.  $18.98

2007 -  America—
God’s Chosen Land of Liberty
,
by Duane S. Crowther.

This inspiring book contains three powerful messages:
(1) It shows from Latter-day Saint scripture that America is truly a land of promise, which God has prepared and preserved for a righteous people to occupy in the last days;
it also shows how God shaped the formulation of this great nation, and how he inspired its founders as the U.S. Constitution was written.
     (2) It  explains the many freedoms U.S. citizens enjoy in this bounteous land. The list is extensive, thought-provoking and inspiring—it makes one truly proud to be an American.
     (3) It explores the challenges Latter-day Saint citizens must overcome as the nation will go through the perilous events of the last days. $11.98

1031 -  The Lost Tribes—
History, Doctrine, Prophecies, & Theories About Israel’s Lost Ten Tribes
,
by R. Clayton Brough.

In the Lost Tribes, author R. Clayton Brough has given definition and clarification to one of the most interesting doctrinal subjects in Mormonism. He traces the Biblical history of the descendants of the great patriarch Jacob, whose name the Lord changed to Israel, down to the time they entered captivity in Assyria. He then draws from other historical sources which relate the exodus of these tribes into "another land" and shows how they became lost to mankind.        Various historical allusions are cited which reflect the sum of modern scholarly knowledge pertaining to their history and present location. The Lost Tribes is a valuable book which assembles a host of interesting and sometimes inaccessible items from many sources. The author has done much to clarify and broaden Latter-day Saint understanding on one of the most intriguing themes in ancient and modern scripture. Here is a book that is being widely read and enjoyed by many.  $14.98

1248 -  Preparing the Elders of Israel to Save the Constitution, by Steve M. Thomas.

President David 0. McKay, referring to the battle for freedom, called the Church a “sleeping and apathetic people.” This is but a fulfillment of prophecy, as Moroni commanded the latter-day Gentiles to “awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you,” which “seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands.”
The author asserts that the time has come for the elders of Israel to prepare to step forward and stand in favor of the constitution in its original form. This book is a description of the “awful situation” we are in, a challenge to “awaken” to it,” and some valuable instructions for those who wish to prepare themselves to be ready to step forward and stand for the original Constitutional principles, if needed.   $9.98

1017 -  They Who Tarry—
The Doctrine of Translated Beings
,
by R. Clayton Brough.

Since the time of Adam, faithful members of the Lord's Church have been permitted in various dispensations of time to either prolong their existence upon this earth, free from any physical suffering, or to be taken into heavenly realms without immediately tasting death. In a term familiar to most Latter-day Saints, these people are said to have been "translated."
They Who Tarry carefully treats a subject that some regard as controversial, considering it with an objective viewpoint and using appropriate sources to clarify many teachings. With this approach, the book is a valuable addition to doctrinal understanding. Horizon Publishers takes pleasure in its release, knowing that it will be widely read and will accomplish much good. $10.98
